Small Town 4th

Well, 3rd, but whatever....  Sunday's for churchin' in the Heartland so all the happenin's went on today. What a day!  Early morning up with the kids to decorate bikes for the kids parade, then to the pancake breakfast then to the parade route. Mom was the Grand Marshall and the kids wanted to be in both the kids parade and ride in the convertible with Grandma.  After the parade it was BBQ in the courthouse lawn and lots of catching up with old friends.  Some friends from Chicago came down for all the "farewell" to my mom festivities which was fantastic!  It was great to catch up with them all.  And of course there was the constant stream of folks who were amazed at how much B2 looks like me.  It really is kind of scary just how much she does.  When I informed them she also acts like me they just laugh and laugh and laugh and then they laugh some more.  She truly is my karma child.

After the food and sweets in the park it was off to the Frosty Treat (again) for old time's sake.  More ice cream. We got about 30 minutes to rest before going to visit more friends and see their new house.  Back to town for mom's big party.  That was over three hours of a constant stream of people who wanted to catch up and ice cream.  I do believe I may have overdosed on both.

As soon as that was over it was out to the lake for fireworks.  Thanks so much to Jane for having a cold hard cider waiting for me.  One kid is out. The other is running on pure sugar.  I'm just done.
