Vintage Bags Repurposed

This lovely Samsonite train case from my mom's first luggage set which she took on her European adventure in the late 50's. Unfortunately this bag isn't monogrammed like the larger bags.

Trunk bag!!

I also have this little vintage Samsonite gem...

I picked it up awhile back at my favorite thrift store for a few bucks.  I have a spare pannier hook kit and now just need to get a piece of tough plastic for inside the back to give it some strength and rigidity.

And in food news....

Last night we had an amazing salad of julienned kohlrabi (root and greens) with a sweet balsamic vinaigrette along side some pasta with grilled chicken and fresh peas from the garden in a creamy garlic sauce.  Dinner was followed by B1's homemade peanut butter cookies and milk.
The cookies were baked in the backyard brick oven!!

After dinner we had an evening visitor wandering from porch to porch.  The poor thing seemed to have an injured foot. I hope he made his way home, where ever that might be.
